Understanding IFMIS

The link of the Integrated Financial Management Information System-IFMIS servers with the Kenya Revenue Authority system will be key in monitoring among others tax compliance for companies that undertake public tenders. This is according to the IFMIS Director Jerome Ochieng who says these are among upgrades that have been effected to boost efficiency in government expenditure. IFMIS systems have been integrated with those of the Central Bank of Kenya and plans are underway to have a link with the Public Procurement Authority. Ochieng told Channel One’s Ronald Owili that IFMIS alleged failure last month that was raised by the Council of Governors was due to an upgrade on the system.
