Understanding Inheritance with C++ | OOP Lecture
In this lecture, I explain one of the principles of object-oriented programming: inheritance. Thanks to inheritance, we are able to relate objects with one another in a hierarchical way, where we define generic objects that more specific objects may inherit from. The lecture is slightly edited to remove student interactions and appearances. ___ Social Media ___ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/velazcojd/ Podcast: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCFKLsd732204hO-PFW1j8Cg ___ Equipment ___ Microphone: https://amzn.to/3leXZR4 Touch Input: https://amzn.to/30Z1Mex Main Monitor: https://amzn.to/3rfwfiQ Second Monitor: https://amzn.to/3Gw8NTv Video Editing: https://amzn.to/3lgb8Jv Video Camera: https://amzn.to/3nrwFjq Main Lighting: https://amzn.to/3GLE9FX Secondary Lighting: https://amzn.to/3npEsi0 Headphones: https://amzn.to/3A0GjP7 USB Drive: https://amzn.to/3Gvm9PD 0:00 Introduction 0:42 Classes & Objects 2:27 Why Inheritance? 8:13 Origin of Inheritance 20:10 Use of Inheritance 23:30 Implementation in C++ 28:15 Terminology 30:43 Member Access 35:22 Protected Access 38:47 Base Constructors 47:30 Inheritance Tips 53:06 Object Relationships 1:04:00 Last Remarks
