The project materialised in Chiminyo's studio, where he invited exceptional musicians Amane Tsuganami (Jorja Smith, Maisha), Al Macsween (Nubya Garcia, Gary Bartz, Kefaya), and Luke Wynter (Nubyan Twist, Golden Mean) to engage in spontaneous improvisations and collective composition. Chiminyo then meticulously shaped and arranged these ideas, occasionally infusing spontaneous improvisations. The subsequent production process saw his signature touch being added to elevate the Uniri experience. Their debut performance at Ronnie Scott’s was a storming success and the record ‘Infinite Reflections’ has since been signed to Astigmatic Records, with release planned for February 2024. With their psychedelic, synth-infused groove, this band taps into the vibrant influences of the Beat and UK Jazz scenes, crafting a unique interpretation that is entirely their own. This psychedelic, synth-laden, groove machine tap into their vibrant influences of the Beat Scene and UK Jazz scene, crafting a distinctive interpretation that is unmistakably theirs. And just as dreams manifest in unique forms, each Uniri experience promises to be an exceptional and reimagined sonic journey.
