They are amphibious and have high DPS when over water firing torpedoes, so that one Riptide can single-handedly take down a water expansion. Riptides also transport engineers for oil captures, while Allied Naval Opener lets Riptide unload Javelin Soldiers into an enemy base, threatening a quick game over via Laser Lock on crucial structures. For strategy, Riptides can combo with Hydrofoils to become unrivaled in naval combat, shutting down much stronger Tier 2 ships such as Akula Sub; Riptide can harass / finish off harvesters that have been froze by Cryoshot, or be shrunken to wreck an entire base that's covered in Cryogeddon; There is also a cheese build where Cryocopter shrinks down enemy tanks, allowing a hoard of Riptides to tear through everything.
