This comes from my Mega Man series in the Bullets & Damage #3 tutorial. A viewer asked how can you shoot the bullets up and down? To make that possible we alter the Bullet prefab and change the rigid body type to kinematic and remove the Y constraint. In our PlayerController code we trap vertical keyboard input and test whether the up or down arrow keys is being pressed. Based on that we alter the vector being passed for the bullet direction to the BulletScript. Watch the video and you can see how it all works.
