Unity Just Launched Unity AI

Unity AI is now in open beta, bringing AI assistance directly into Unity 6 for game developers. The update adds Unity AI Assistant inside the editor, AI Gateway for connecting outside AI systems, and Unity MCP Server for agent-style workflows that can interact with Unity projects. This matters because AI is moving closer to the actual game development workspace. Developers are no longer limited to using AI separately for code, planning, or asset ideas. Unity is putting AI directly around the editor, scenes, assets, and project workflow. Unity AI could change how solo developers, indie teams, and studios build games by reducing repetitive setup, helping with editor tasks, and making AI part of the engine itself. The bigger shift is that game engines are starting to become agentic workspaces, not just manual production tools.
