Let's make a cool electric weapon-thing with particles in Unity! Such sparks, much wow. The finished effects (before/after tutorial) are included in the update to Ultimate VFX.

If you don't have Ultimate VFX, you can still follow along using Inferno VFX (http://u3d.as/mpY), which is FREE! You can use the glowSphere material for the lightning/sparks/trails, and any of the explosion materials for the smoke.
