UP Naming Mahal

This is a music video of the University of the Philippines Hymn UP Naming Mahal produced by TVUP and the UP Media and Public Relations Office. Originally written as UP Beloved by Teogenes Velez, the song would be translated to Filipino, with composite lyrics from seven entries in a contest held by the university. The judges could not find a single entry which solely encapsulated the English version. The music is composed by Nicanor Abelardo, rearranged by Hilarion Rubio and Tomas Aguirre, after the original composition was found too high a note for the average singer. --- UP Naming Mahal U.P. naming mahal, pamantasang hirang Ang tinig namin, sana'y inyong dinggin Malayong lupain, amin mang marating Di rin magbabago ang damdamin Di rin magbabago ang damdamin.
