Upcycled Keepsake Box
A buddy wanted me to make a box for him. He sent me a handful of reference photos, and they were all antique style strong boxes. Wooden boxes reinforced with metal strips. Big, heavy things that would tote around who knows what valuables. He didn't want anything TOO large, and I wanted to make sure it's wasn't too much extra effort to lug this around. I had some oak planks that I took off an old futon frame, as well as some beat up cookie sheets, thought this would be a great time to upcycle them into a neat amalgamation of discarded old things. By weight, this box is 98.3% recycled/reused materials. Only the pan head screws were purchased new for this build.
