Upgrading LED Tubes with WS2811 3W Modules
The previous version of the RGB LED Tubes were controlled by one constant current source. The drawback was that the High Power RGB LEDs could not be controlled individually. To have at least two different colors the RGB LEDs were divided into two groups (2x5) with its own controller and constant current source. The upgraded version uses 10x WS2811 3W modules. Every module has its own constant current source. That's why every RGB LED can now be controlled individually. The controller is a Wemos D1 Mini Pro (ESP8266 based) programmed with the ESPixelStick Firmware 4.0. A level shifter 74HCT125 is used between the controller and the first WS2811 module. The animations were made with xLights. 00:00 Intro 00:09 Disassembling 00:19 New Schematic / Removing old Wiring 00:42 Modifying Heat Sinks 00:58 Gluing WS2811 Modules 01:16 Mounting WS2811 Modules 01:46 Level Shifter 02:08 Soldering 02:32 Mounting case 02:40 Finished Upgrade :::::::::::::::::::: previous version: "RGB LED Tubes with ESP8266" https://youtu.be/vuynP8LEdMs :::::::::::::::::::: Music: "Take Me Away(Out on Spotify)" By Markvard is licensed under a Creative Commons License License: Attribution 3.0 Unported (CC BY 3.0) https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/ https://soundcloud.com/markvard/take-me-away https://soundcloud.com/markvard :::::::::::::::::::: Music: "Paradise(Out on Spotify)" By Markvard, used under a Creative Commons License / Remixed from original License: Attribution 3.0 Unported (CC BY 3.0) https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/ https://soundcloud.com/markvard/paradise https://soundcloud.com/markvard ::::::::::::::::::::
