Upper Bucks Aviation Technical School Spring 1996

This video was taken on the day when we ran our radial engine (Continental W670 tank engine) during the power plant part of the course. I was in a team with two other guys who took the engine apart and put it back together. Other teams had 4 and 6 cylinder Lyconings. As you can tell from watching the video we were pretty green. I mis identified a 4 cylinder Lycoming at one point. The issue on the first engine run was the mag timing. We each had to practice setting the timing before the run. The last guy (not me) set the timing to top center. This is also a good example of why so many airplane mechanics have hearing loss. Enjoy!
