USB Type C - Cold Socket

A standards-compliant USB type C socket on a power source does not supply 5 volts by default. A resistor (5.1k ohms) is required in the sink device, connecting through the CC conductor in the cable, to switch on VBUS. Two resistors are needed to enable the cable to be connected either way round.
