Using AI for Requirements Gathering 👩💻
🆓 0:01 Hey guys I have a treat for you today. What I'm going to do is show you how I use AI, specifically Claude.ai And I'm going to zoom in on the address bar here and you can see it says Claude.ai projects create. 0:20 Okay so you can create a free account here and get in here and try things out. And see what you come up with and what we're going to do here is we're going to come up with some requirements for we're going to like fully develop our requirements for requirements for an application. 0:40 And I do have a sample project here in mind. Okay. So what I'm going to say is what what project we're working on. 0:46 Um I don't want any of that. called Leather Tracking App. So there is a company that wants to keep track of leather and their inventory and everything and of course we're going to be going over these details here. 1:18 I want you to help me create very good detailed recordings. Requirements for my PowerApps, I should say Canvas, PowerApps application. 1:42 Okay, I'm going to create the project there. And what's great, I'm going to make myself a little smaller. We could upload, if we have any documents, we could upload them into here. 1:56 Okay, um now, what I'm going to do is, Okay, so I've got some text here. that I'm going to include. 2:15 And this is just the initial information uhm for our project here. Track the production of Butchered Alligator and to its products included. 2:25 Including Untanned, Hyde, and Meat. Okay, so we have the what. We have the who, the why. There are detailed accounting processes. 2:44 Okay, that's good. So I guess that's part of the what there. Okay, so we have the what, the who, and the why here. 2:54 And I'm gonna hit enter, or click on that button there, and let's see what comes up. Look at all this stuff! 3:17 Now what I like to do in a project like this, is tell AI to ask me at least 10 questions about the app so you can you can provide very detailed requirements. 3:47 I really just put that right. Requirements. K. Let's see what it comes up with. Some good stuff. I asked for 10 questions that gave me 15. 4:09 That was great. Okay. This is this is really key. This is great. This is where as a software developer, you're going to look at, let's say the client sends you this. 4:24 It's typically very little information. I need an app that tracks blah blah, you know, and so what I suggest is when you get that information, you get all the information of the who, what, when, where, why, uh, of the, of the project. 4:48 And part of the who is like, well, what, what are the users like? Are the users technical, non-technical? So that would really affect how you design the user interface. 5:04 You know, can you make it like super streamlined for somebody that's a little more technical? Or does it need to be, you know, are these used by people out on a farm in the farmyard with a tablet and they're just going to pull out the tablet and maybe have gloves on or something? 5:19 And you might need to make the buttons really big and you know what I mean? So that's, that's part of the who. 5:29 So one thing is when. Like talk to the client. Like hey, when you need this by and sometimes they say yesterday and that can, uh, you know, affect the price of, if you want this done tomorrow morning, I'm going to stay up all night and finish this for you. 5:45 But you're going to pay me like triple my, my, my rate, you know? Um, so who, we have the, what, when we don't know the, when, when they need it, by where. 5:58 Um, is it going to be like what, what tenant is going to be in your tenant? And in this case, it will be in our own tenant and we'll host the app for them. 6:11 And then why, which we have defined here. So this is good stuff. So yeah, we need to get answers to these. 6:24 But until then get those answers to you as soon as I get them. But based on the information I've provided you here, go ahead and get give me a data dictionary. 7:02 In table format, uhm, table names, field names, uhm, descriptions on each and how they will be. used, uhm, if they are primary keys for IB4Es. 7:39 I still don't think that's how you spell four. IB4, okay, four. Whatever. laughs So I try to get it to Get me started with an ERD diagram now You know, hopefully we all that are working on these projects. 7:58 We know how to create ERD diagrams But this gives you a head start Look at that This is great stuff Okay All right, I'm gonna stop right there, and I think I will do a follow-up video to this one whenever we get answers to these questions by the client. 8:30 How about that?
