Using Live Pointers in Google Slides
Google has introduced a new feature in Google Slides called the live pointer option. This feature allows users to see the icons of other collaborators as they move their mouse across the screen. It is particularly useful for teachers who are collaborating on presentations with other teachers, as it provides a visual way to see where each collaborator is in the presentation. By turning on and controlling live pointers through the view menu, users can choose to show either collaborator pointers or just their own pointer. This feature enables users to easily track who is actively participating and working on a presentation or project within a group. To access the live pointer settings, users can toggle them on and off or click on the menu next to the live pointer toggle. By setting it up to show other collaborator pointers, users can see their movements on the screen and locate them within the presentation. It is important to note that both parties need to turn on their live pointer settings for this feature to work. For teachers, this is similar to having students log into another program so that their attendance can be tracked. Instead of an attendance list, teachers will see their students' movements on the slides, along with their names next to their icons. Overall, the live pointer option in Google Slides provides an innovative way for collaboration and visual tracking of collaborators' activities during presentations or projects.
