Using Python to Estimate Parameters
This is the second video in the Estimating Parameters Supplement to SCoRE, a Self-Study Course on Reaction Engineering (https://buffalobadger.github.io/SCoRE/). SCoRE is based on the online book, “Reaction Engineering Basics” (https://buffalobadger.github.io/RE_Basics/). In reaction engineering it is sometimes necessary to estimate the values of parameters that appear in rate expressions or reactor models. The first video presents a general description of how to do that numerically when using single response data. This video describes the SCoRE utility function for estimating parameters using Python and illustrates its use. 0:00 Intro 0:42 The SCoRE Utility Function, fit_to_SR_data 1:52 Using fit_to_SR_data 3:34 Python Predicted Responses Function 4:38 Example Parameter Estimation Master Script 5:41 Reading the Experimental Data from a .csv File 7:03 The Derivatives Function 7:36 The PFR Function 8:14 The Predicted Responses Function 9:27 The Parameter Estimates Function 10:10 The Deliverables Function 10:33 Parity and Residuals Plots 10:59 Performing the Calculations I hope you found this video to be informative.
