V6 Video
This is a 93cc (5.7Cu in) 90° V6 model aero engine. It is made entirely from standard bar stock, mostly aluminum. The design is by Wolfgang Trötscher of WTEngines.com who also sells the drawings. I have modified the design a little, mainly the intake manifold and carb. The design splits the crankcase and crankshaft into three parts, making construction on small machinery possible. This also means that the crankshaft (and camshaft) can be supported entirely on ballraces instead of plain bearings. The engine produces about 8bhp and running free will go to 9000rpm, though 4000rpm is a more comfortable speed on load. In the video the engine is fitted with a flywheel rather than a prop. This is mainly for safety- a 24” prop can cause life changing injuries with a moment’s inattention.
