Chef Carlossus is going show you how to prepare a lovely Vanilla custard slice.
Vanilla custard slice Ingredients:
2 sheets of convenience butter puff pastry
Custard:
600 ml milk
2 yolks
30g custard powder
30g flour
5ml vanilla essence
100g sugar
Icing:
350g (2C) icing sugar
1 lemon zested and juiced
25g butter
2-3 Tablespoons of hot water
This recipe is in memory of my two late uncles Gary and Kevin, Uncle Gary had a big love of custard slice and uncle Kevin was a baker, that I was privileged to inherit his baking equipment so I used his equipment with this recipe. They are brothers so it was extra special doing this recipe.
