Vented Loudspeaker Z Model
In this video, we examine a simulation model of a typical dynamic loudspeaker when it is placed in a vented (i.e., ported) enclosure. The vent adds new elements to the basic simulation model. These new elements create a resonant circuit which can have a major impact, not only one frequency response of the loudspeaker system, but as we see in this video, the impedance of the loudspeaker. The typical bass resonant peak seen in a free-air or infinite baffle system can be altered significantly. References: AC Electrical Circuit Analysis: A Practical Approach.
