When we make our cuts we need to have good timing and create space. Sometimes the space is easy to see, other times we have to move our defender out of position to create it. If we want to go deep, we need to drag our defender under. If we want to get open under, we need to drag our defender deep. If we want to get open on the break side, we need to drag our defender to the open side. In doing this, we create the opportunity to receive the disk in those locations.
