ssRNA: virology techniques introduces some of the most common indirect laboratory methods used in modern laboratories to study and quantify viruses. These are: virus propagation in cell culture; plaque assay and the quantification of virus infectivity; detection of virus proteins using specific antibodies with the example of immunofluorescence microscopy; and nucleic acid amplification like PCR and RT-PCR.
