The OECD’s assessment of economic competitiveness of its member states plays a crucial role in understanding policy impacts and shaping policy decisions. To support their work, Interactive Things designed and developed a data visualization platform to explore and analyze the indicators driving economic competitiveness. Our project team represented by Lloyd Richards and Michael Schönenberger will share learnings from their collaboration with the OECD, building the Western Balkans Competitiveness Data Hub. During their presentation, they will provide a look behind the scenes of working with a high-profile client like the OECD. Lloyd and Michael will discuss the challenges they encountered in working with an evolving data source, designing across channels, and managing geopolitical stakeholders. This session offers an opportunity to gain insights into the complexities of building large-scale data visualization platforms for international organizations. Whether you're a data scientist, interface designer, or project manager, we believe you'll come away with valuable lessons on navigating the intersection of data, design, and policy. Speaker: Lloyd Richards is an interaction engineer at Interactive Things and has built products for the OECD, International Organization for Migration, Statistik Stadt Zürich, among others. Michael Schönenberger is an interaction designer at Interactive Things and has created products for the OECD, Schweizer Bundesamt für Statistik, Stadt Winterthur, among others.
