Vizrt 4 Font Characters Tutorial

This introduces you to the Characters tab inside the font editor. The Special tab is sandwiched between the text editing window and the Basic tab. If you’re not familiar with the Basic tab then there is another video on that topic alone. The characters allow you to add special font characters into the editing window by dragging and dropping. If you need a symbol or alpha-numeric key not on your keyboard you can go into the special tab and look for the icon you might need. Different fonts will carry different characters. So, a character in one font may not always be present in another font. Though you can drag a special character into the text editor window you cannot drag a special character into the scene editor window. The special tab can be useful for fonts with different languages. Not all keyboards may support the language or may have some missing keys. You can fill in whatever you need with these special characters. As an example, if you needed a copyright or trademark symbol in a line of text, you won’t find either of those symbols on a keyboard. So you can go into the special tab, find the copyright symbol and drag it behind whatever letter you need and it will appear in your line of text. This saves you from having to go out to an external program and make it on your own.
