The Vizrt 4 Spring Geometry is a three dimensional geometry that allows you to create a spiral spring. The spring can contain many spirals or just one spiral that forms a ring. The spring allows you to set corners and tesselation so it can be quite heavy to render if the settings are adjusted to high. The Vizrt 4 Spring is found in the Built-Ins window, the Geometry Plugin (GP) tab and the default folder. When you drag the spring into the scene tree window, you won’t see the three dimensions until you put a material on the container as well. Once you drag a material onto the spring you will see the depth and number of spirals that make up the spring. The Spring has several settings within the editor that you can adjust, including: Use LOD which sets the automatic level of detail. Tesselation will set the degree of detail. Corners will allow you to set the number of corners the spring will have. The minimum number of 3 will give you a triangular shape. Turns allows you to set a numerical value for the number of spiral or turns of the spring. Gradient will adjust the size of the gradient. This refers to how close each spring spiral is to one another. Diameter Torus will adjust the diameter of the spring. Diameter Cross Section will set the diameter of the spring spiral. Show Bottom will enable or disable the bottom of the spring. Show Top will enable or disable the top of the spring. Center will set the center axis of the spring. The choices are Top, Center and Bottom. When you adjust the Turns settings this selection will be visible. The video will show you more in-depth what each one of these settings does and how it affects the spring.
