What is Vray? 1. As you probably already know, Vray is a render plugin. It's a plugin, which means that it adds functionality to an existing program. 2. Vray's features mainly aim at creating photorealistic images, together with improving rendering speed. 3. Currently, Vray exist for 3D Studio Max, Maya, Rhinoceros 3D, Sketchup, Softimage, Blender and there's even a standalone version available. MAX SETUP - Install 3Ds Max as per installation instructions - Once Max & Vray are installed: - Customize - custom UI & defaults switcher - initial settings for tool options: Max.vray - UI Scheme:ame-dark.Restart Max. VERY IMPORTANT! MOST IMPORTANT ! First of all when you open your 3dsMax open the Render setup dialog and change the Renderer from Default Scanline to Vray (my version is 3.6). As we are creating Vray Glass it is good to sett your Vray Renderer from the beginning.
