We explore the idea of checking algorithms, which allow us to verify solutions even when generating them is computationally infeasible. Through examples such as Boolean Satisfiability (SAT), the Traveling Salesman Problem (TSP), Independent Set, and Vertex Cover, we examine the distinction between producing and validating solutions. The lecture also discusses how complex problems are interconnected through reductions, a key idea that helps classify problems within computational complexity theory.
