W6_L11: Circular convolution & circular matrix
Welcome to Week 6 Lecture 11 of the course "Maths for Electronics 2" by Prof. Andrew Thangaraj. Full Course: https://study.iitm.ac.in/es/course_pages/MA2101.html Video Overview In this lecture, we connect the theory of eigenvalues and eigenvectors to practical applications in signal processing. We introduce circulant matrices and explain how they naturally model circular convolution, a key operation in digital filtering. You will learn how eigenvalue–eigenvector analysis simplifies the understanding and design of digital filters. Several worked examples demonstrate how circulant matrices capture the essence of circular convolution, providing a bridge between linear algebra and digital signal processing. About IIT Madras' Online Bachelor of Science Programme IIT Madras offers four-year BS programmes that aim to provide quality education to all irrespective of age, educational background, or location. The BS programme has multiple levels which provide flexibility to students to exit at any of these levels. Depending on the courses completed and credits earned, the learner can receive a Foundation Certificate from IITM CODE (Centre for Outreach and Digital Education), Diplomas from IIT Madras, or BSc/BS Degrees from IIT Madras.
