Walter Payton - Beyond The Glory
Pro Football Hall of Fame runningback Walter Payton died at the young age of 45 back in 1999, but the memory of one of the greatest -if not THE greatest- runningbacks of all time, remains. Drafted out of Jackson State by the Chicago Bears in the 1st round of the NFL draft back in 1975, Walter would go on to a fantastic career playing for the Bears his entire career. Retiring after the 1987 season, Payton amassed a whopping 16.726 yards and 110 TDs rushing, in addition to 4.538 yards and 15 TDs receiving. He also threw 8 TD passes, but I digress: He was a physical force of nature that was not easy to stop, but that only scratches the surface of a man that the 'NFL Man of the Year'-award rightfully is named after. Get to know Walter Payton a bit better in this documentary from 2004 - it's full of memorable moments, interviews, and -of course- football. Never Die Easy!
