Ballas is a really limp antagonist. The quest makes it clear he does a lot of fucked up shit, but his motivations for doing them aren't explored, which makes him lame - for a quest that is supposed to be character-driven, Ballas' character is not convincing. The quest doesn't answer a lot of important questions while opening up a shitload of new ones. The intent is probably to open up even more questions for the next quest, but given cinematic quests take like a year to come out, this is a really shitty cliffhanger. Once again, because character motivations are not explored, the quest feels empty. A lot of "How" is answered, but all the "Why" are practically untouched. Umbra exists in a vaccum. His relationship to the other Warframes is never explored and Ballas' reasons for turning him into one are never explored outside of "I'm turning you into a Warframe as punishment lol" - We have no idea what his creation contributes to the Warframes overall, nor do we have any idea if, and how, Ballas used him as a Warframe.
