With some of the changes with the different versions and since I play strictly with the AI at more difficult levels, I found that I would run out of oil by turn 3 making the game unplayable. So going into the Matrix forum and reading some of the strategies there and playing turn 1 over and over again, I found this set of opening moves helpful in maintaining the flow of oil to Japan. While not perfect, it does help and make the game more enjoyable. I start the game at historical levels for bonus but as the game moves forward, I change these settings to mimic the manufacturing power of the US and make the AI more aggressive.
