Research Seminars in Information Systems (ReSIS) - Seminar 7 (2020)
WarpPLS and Formative Constructs
Prof. Ned Kock (Texas A&M University, USA)
November 4, 2020
Use of the partial least squares (PLS) method has been on the rise in a wide variety of fields of research. This includes most business-related disciplines, information systems, as well as the social and health sciences. The use of the PLS method has been primarily in the context of PLS-based structural equation modeling (SEM). In this seminar, Ned Kock will present some of the advantages of using Warp-PLS, a software tool he has developed, to deal with formative constructs in statistical models. This may be of great use in IS research, particularly in establishing the relationship between the variables we measure and the constructs we intend to assess.
