Waste Minimisation Circles MoEF
The National Productivity Council (NPC), India had undertaken a nationwide project under the title "Waste Minimisations Circles", funded by the Ministry of Environment and Forest (MoEF), India. Under this project,m about 120 MSMEs were covered under about 45 clusters spread over 17 states in India. The approach was unique in the sense that under each cluster, a minimum of five MSMEs in a given cluster were selected to form a Waste Minimisation Circle (WMC) and areas needing improvements and reducing wastes were identified in the units. The NPC team members helped by providing technical and professional help to develop solutions and implement in at elast one of the units, with an idea of replicating it in similar units. Great vision. I was lucky to be associated with two such clusters viz: Textile Printing units in Hyderabad and the Sago manufacturing cluster in Samarlakota (A.P.) region. This video will provide enough insights to the MSMEs and help them in identifiying the potential for savings and profit maximisation, while primarily addressing the waste reduction in all resources, be it the Men, Materials, Capacity or Energy... The aim was towards achieving Cleaner Production....
