Michigan State Police trooper and motor carrier officer recruits must complete and pass the Water Safety Program during a recruit school.
The recruits are required to show their proficiency using all of the techniques learned during this program. When a trooper or motor carrier officer responds to a water emergency, they will be confident in their ability to make a rescue and survive.
