Watermelon Fault Line Cake Tutorial
Fault Line Cakes- they're all the rage right now, right? (Right.) So I decided to use some of the sprinkles I create (link below) for a fun twist on the fault line cake trend. Also I show my face in this video so there is that! Let me know what you think in the comments! :) Supplies you will need: Cake! (I used 4 layers of 6" round cake, filed and crumb coated in vanilla buttercream) Sprinkles:This cake uses the Cakes by Kristi Pink Watermelon Sprinkle Mix available in the Cakes by Kristi Etsy shop at www.Etsy.com/shop/CakesByKristi Turntable (I use the Innovative Sugarworks turntable and it is my absolute favorite. Why? IT LOCKS!!!) Gloves (not necessary, but highly recommended as sprinkles have a habit of sticking to hands) Bowl (shorter than your turntable so that it can catch as many sprinkles as possible) Buttercream (Colored pink and green. I use Swiss Meringue Buttercream and color it with Americolor gel paste) Edible Art Paint (White, Green, and Yellow) Piping Bags Cake Scraper Rolling Pin Cutting mat or Cel board Small Teardrop cutter Paint brushes Spatula Tweezers (not necessary but highly recommended) Fondant (Black for seeds, Green for around the board [not necessary, but recommended]) Ribbon for board
