Wave Maker 1.0 Tutorial - Fixed Cells & Paint Mode
Get the asset here! http://wavemaker.lidia-martinez.com Open to read the transcription: "Hi, I'm going to show you what fixed cells are. The surface is divided into cells. The size and number of cells depends on the resolution and size of the surface. Fixed cells are cells that will not move during the simlation. They are useful to skip zones from the computation and also to make waves hit on them. Select the surface and in the surface component, click show fixed cells. Here you will be able to see in black which cells are fixed in your surface. Fixed cells are stored in the descriptor, which is a scriptable object in your project. These buttons help you fix all, fix none or fix borders to speed up the process. In the surface you can now see the effect of fixing borders. You can also modify the cells of the descriptor from the surface If you want to fix all cells colliding with any object, select the distance of detection from the surface, select the layer where the objects you wish to detect are. It will detect all objects within the selected distance. Then click the button to see the effect. You can see that the fixed cells are now stored in the descriptor. Oops. But we had an object that we didn't want to detect. That is an interactor and will move. Let's move it away to see better. Lets enable Paint Mode. Select the paint mode to Unfix, select the radius of the pencil and the color. Then in the scene view, paint the areas you wish to unfix. You can also fix other areas by hand. These areas will not be simulated. Let's bring the interactor where it was and click play to see the result. To see how the cells react, you can select Show Grid."
