One of the most compelling reasons for Christians to have real hope is in the declaration found in Romans 5:1-2 "Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we boast in the hope of the glory of God."
When we take hold of Jesus or "get a grip on Him" once we receive Him as Lord & Saviour, we follow Him through in whatever He did and achieved for our sakes. So yes, we can take heart that we do have the victory as it is "finished". We cannot add to completeness, we cannot achieve more than perfection. So do take heart every day even in the midst of dire circumstances for the best is yet to come.
