Drawlooms allow the weaver to control small groups of threads to create more complex patterns. This is damask, meaning that is it woven in a satin structure. This loom is set up to allow me to control 29 pattern shafts in the middle of the cloth and to additionally control single units of threads on the borders. I first selects the appropriate threads by pulling the knobs, then I weave five wefts.
