Calibrating nips is no less important than calibrating dancers or load cells, yet they are more complicated. In this clip we introduce the idea of sensor friction and resulting control uncertainty that is central to calibrating dancers and nips. In short, we can not calibrate friction. It must be measured in the field. In short, we can not calibrate zero. It must be defined after friction has been measured.
