Comparing a Weber Gallatin Carved Top octave mandolin with a Weber Sage, flat top . The Sage has octave strings in the G and D courses instead of unisons.
Weber Gallatin is much easier to play because of the shorter scale length but the higher tension on the Sage because of the 23.5” scale length makes it a little louder and brighter imho.
