Guided precision motion is most often thought of in the linear form which is used extensively in machinery and automation applications. Sometimes curved motion is better suited to an application. Examples might include moving a sensor or welding torch around the circumference of a pipe, or a complete 360-degree rotary table for indexing a complex assembly operation to various angles. Combining simple linear and curved guides together makes a curvilinear solution which can provide the foundation for a range of applications from a simple tool guide up to a high throughput continuous production machine. Complete continuous assembly lines can be implemented using an oval shape or rectangular configuration. This webinar will outline available components, design concepts, and application examples of curvilinear motion solutions. Watch this webinar to learn: - About standard and customized products for curved, rotary, and curvilinear motion. - How simple design concepts and principles apply to complex motion systems. - About real-world application examples of curved motion in automation.
