Webinar: Optimizing Chemistry Analyzers
Systemic failures regarding equipment maintenance frequently cause inaccurate laboratory results. In low- and middle-income countries, between 40% and 70% of medical equipment remains broken, unused, or abandoned. Chemistry analyzers represent some of the most complex assets in clinical laboratories. Research indicates that calibration errors and analytical failures in these devices lead to diagnostic variability. This variability causes inappropriate care or patient harm in 6.4% to 12% of cases. This technical session addresses the maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of chemistry analyzers. The presentation outlines strategies to improve the reliability and lifespan of these critical diagnostic tools. Dr. M. Dhanasekaran, Director of Admin and Technical at Genuine Biosystem Pvt Ltd, leads the analysis. Dr. Dhanasekaran holds a Ph.D. in Biochemistry and possesses 25 years of experience in the In Vitro Diagnostics industry. His work focuses on technology development, quality assurance, and regulatory affairs to provide sustainable technical solutions for medical device management. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Oxygen Alliance works to create resilient healthcare infrastructure by rallying stakeholders to prioritize the maintenance and repair of biomedical equipment.
