Week Two - Silence & Solitude
Today we continue in our series The Elimination of Hurry with a powerful message on silence and solitude. In a world marked by constant noise, efficiency, and digital distraction, Pastor Matt reminds us that hurry is one of the greatest enemies of our spiritual lives—and that boredom, stillness, and quiet can become sacred gateways to prayer and awareness of God. Drawing from the life of Jesus, we see how time alone in the quiet place was not a sign of weakness, but a source of strength, clarity, and intimacy with the Father. Scripture shows us again and again that Jesus withdrew to solitary places to pray—especially in seasons of busyness and demand. This message invites us to slow down, silence the external noise and internal chatter, and create intentional space to be present with God, others, and our own souls. As Psalm 46:10 reminds us, “Be still, and know that I am God.” Silence and solitude may be forgotten disciplines—but they just might be the most powerful practices we need to thrive in the chaos of modern life.
