As the weekend approaches, the Kent County Road Commission (KCRC) is closely monitoring a dual storm system that is expected to bring a total of 2 to 8 inches of snow to the region, according to the National Weather Service. Storm Timeline The first wave of snow is expected to arrive after midnight tonight (early Saturday morning), bringing approximately 1 to 4 inches of accumulation. As Saturday progresses, the first system will begin to move out, but the second storm is right on its heels. There remains some uncertainty regarding precipitation types. Forecast models indicate the possibility of freezing drizzle in some areas before transitioning back to snow on Saturday night into Sunday. This second round could add another 1 to 4 inches of snow accumulation.
