The leaves of the kratom tree have been chewed for centuries in southeast Asia. At low doses they have a mild stimulant effect, and at higher doses ease pain and provide mild sedation. Some people obtain benefits for symptoms of depression, anxiety, opiate addiction, and ADHD.
