English and contra dancers got together in one gym dancing to contras and English dances that shared common figures. The workshop was part of the 2022 Adirondack Dance Weekend held at the Silver Bay YWCA Retreat Center on the shores of Lake George, New York, sponsored by the DanceFlurry Organization (danceflurry.org). 00:39 Joanna Reiner Wilkinson teaching Well Hall "The Baltimore Consort holds in its memory the graceful image of a hundred country dancers weaving the figures of this elegant waltz-like dance in the soft glow of the Pinewoods "C-sharp" shed. The wonder is that such a melody as this, more than three-hundred years old, still inspires us to glide soundlessly, buoyed by the innate lightness of the lilting melody whose author (probably a fiddling dancing master) rests in obscurity, unaware of the joy which his tune continues to bring." - The Baltimore Consort, from notes accompanying their "Tunes from the Attic" CD (1997).
