What do we mean by “mathematical rigor”? This is one of those terms where everyone kind of knows what it means but never really explicitly defines it. I'll tell you what I think then use some examples from Euclid's Elements to illustrate my point. Finally, we'll talk about some practical ways this can impact your teaching.
