I really felt unsure of what I wanted to do going forwards with the sheep. Last year and the year before lambing time was difficult and I found it was a lot of pressure on me, I didn’t cope brilliantly and it caused me to feel quite unwell and unhappy with stress and overwhelm. I spent a lot of time reevaluating my vision for the future. There was a lot of “trying to keep everything going” like dad was still here but he’s not here and it isn’t the same anymore. We still have our campsite to run and it’s an important business for the future of Dale farm but most of my energy was going on sheep which were actually bringing in very little revenue considering the time and input. So I’m sharing some of my feelings about that and feeling good now about having a smaller flock! And now lambing is approaching fast!
