“ What forever doesn’t mean “ I see what forever doesn’t always mean, We cannot have control of what we cannot see. And so what were left with is lots of broken dreams, having to say goodbye to the ones we love, Looking for answers within my soul, Not sure what the future holds, what the future holds. I laid beside you as I said goodbye, my emotions exploded from deep inside, as I whispered gently inside your ear, it’s OK my love, I’m right here. You took your last breath, and you slipped away, you slipped away. I said I love you one last time, because I knew this was it, what I dreaded most. Now I am left with echoes within my walls, within my soul. Now I understand what forever doesn’t mean, for death can claim us at any time. I feel so broken as I knew I would, it’s like you took me with you, there’s just nothing here I’m only left with inner fears. Oh God, don’t give up on this loneliness, for if you do, where would I go? Give me the strength I need now, before it’s too late and I drown, within my tears. By Diane Vasquez
