The Sierra Nevada mountains are a great example of a mix of granite and granite-like igneous rocks, aka as a batholith. There are several other rocks that are sometimes simply called granite, but display variation on the scale of coarseness or mineral composition, and these include rocks like Syenite, Monzonite, and Granodiorite.
