Get to know ESF's paper engineering program! Paper engineering is a specialization in chemical engineering that focuses on pulp and paper products. If that sounds unimpressive at first blush, consider that paper is everywhere...and its expanse is growing. As a sustainable, recyclable and renewable material, there's research into paper as an element in more sustainable brake pads, batteries and more! ESF has been on the forefront of paper for almost 100 years, with a paper science and engineering program that offers students a path to careers that combine environmental sustainability with profitability. ESF partnerships with industry leaders mean students can receive up to $20,000 in scholarships and pursue paid industry internships that can place them all around the country and the globe, to gain work experience while still in school. And upon graduation, students can look forward to our consistent 100% employment rate. Most of our students receive multiple job offers by the time of graduation, with starting salaries that average over $70,000 per year. So if you're thinking about an engineering career, think paper at ESF!
