What is PLC || DCS || SCADA || HMI
What is PLC || DCS || SCADA || HMI A programmable logic controller, PLC, or programmable controller is a digital computer used for automation of typically industrial electromechanical processes, such as control of machinery on factory assembly lines, amusement rides, or light fixtures. PLCs are used in many machines, in many industries. What SCADA is used for? What does SCADA stand for? Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems are used for controlling, monitoring, and analyzing industrial devices and processes. The system consists of both software and hardware components and enables remote and on-site gathering of data from the industrial equipment. What is the HMI? What is Human Machine Interface? In simple terms, the Human Machine Interface, commonly known as HMI, is the means by which humans engage with machines to monitor, control and/or carry out processes. Simple examples of Human Machine Interfaces are keyboards and touchscreens. What does DCS mean in control systems? A Distributed Control System or DCS is a computerized system that automates industrial equipment used in continuous and batch processes, while reducing the risk to people and the environment. PLC are divided into three types based on output namely Relay output, Transistor output, and Triac Output PLC. The relay output type is best suited for both AC and DC output devices. Transistor output type PLC uses switching operations and used inside microprocessors. I still can’t believe we got all of these athletes for this Thanks Yahoo Sports for sponsoring.
